Electrical Installations Tutor


£40,000 – flexible for the right person/experience

Our client based in Earlsfield is expanding, and therefore is a looking for a Tutor that will predominantly deliver technical training in various systems to apprentices and in-house technicians. They are looking for something dynamic and enthusiastic, with a passion for working with young people and experience in installation of electrical systems. You will be expected to be able to work on a one-to-one basis on a variety of tasks as well as with groups of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to the Apprenticeships Manager to ensure that development goals are achieved
  • Training and supporting apprentices to meet the new Level 3 Standard
  • Develop learning materials to support on the job training
  • Undertake observations of apprentices in the workplace
  • Classroom delivery of systems training
  • Support apprentices completing online technical qualifications
  • Contribute to the management of sub-contract agreements ensuring a high level of quality compliance
  • Comply with the quality assurance procedures for the client
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents including learner documentation to meet Ofsted requirements within specified time parameters
  • Manage and maintain clear and functional record-keeping systems and databases as required while maintaining the integrity of secure filing and archiving systems
  • Answer and manage incoming calls and act as a first point of contact for the client
  • Assist with the smooth running of the training by dealing with general enquiries and maintaining shared resources
  • Liaise and meet with the Company heads of operational departments to ensure their training needs are met
  • Monitor, screen, respond to and distribute incoming communications
  • Attend industry events and meetings to raise the profile of the client
  • Be responsible for maintaining the presentation of the academy building
  • Ensure that training equipment is maintained (e.g. photocopier, telephones, laptops, computers) and liaise with necessary people if repairs or changes are needed
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings and events and be responsible for managing the academy room booking system
  • Liaise and interact with external clients and outside agencies such as the Princes Trust
  • Provide Initial Advice, Guidance and careers advice to all learners
  • Assist with recruitment of future talent by attending careers events
  • Liaise with internal staff at all levels and ensure employer engagement and liaison to grow the apprenticeship scheme
  • Record, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings
  • Co-ordinate project-based work
  • Supervise, coach and train variety of staff and trainees/apprentices

Person Specification

  • Technical experience installing electrical systems essential
  • Some training experience desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software, such as MS Office Suite
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills
