HR Advisor

Location: Battersea

Permanent Full Time

Salary: £35,000 (DOE)

Our client is looking for an HR Advisor to be the face of Human Resources at their company. This role will handle full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, benefits, performance management and employee engagement.

 Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


  • Manage full-cycle recruitment (sourcing, interviewing, extending offers, etc.)
  • Source suitable recruitment agencies to assist with the client’s needs
  • Negotiate recruitment fees with agencies
  • Advertise roles on appropriate websites e.g. Uni of Law, BPP etc.
  • Advertise roles on social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Making offers of employment
  • Manage the temporary/locum recruitment process



  • Prepare and send out offers of employment
  • Responsible for pre-employment checks e.g. referencing, DBS checks
  • Set up new starters on internal systems with assistance from internal and external contacts
  • Liaise with finance and payroll provider to add a new starter to monthly payroll
  • Organise induction and training
  • Manage the probation process


Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters
  • Mentor/coach department heads/managers to tackle ER issues
  • Monitor absence trends and discuss with the appropriate manager if necessary
  • Conduct absence reviews when appropriate
  • Make referrals to occupational Health when necessary
  • Monitor timekeeping through the signing in and out sheets
  • Manage the grievance and disciplinary processes
  • Manage all flexible working policies and applications
  • Manage the maternity, paternity and shared paternal leave processes



  • Ensure BreatheHR is continually kept up to date with changes
  • Confirm contract changes
  • Respond to reference requests
  • Respond to all other HR admin requests
  • Responsible for all leavers admin
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Responsible for updated policies and procedures and ensure they comply with statutory regulations

And any other duties required to be undertaken by the Finance Manager/Practice Manager and Equity Partners.


Person Specification

  • Generalist HR experience within a Professional Services organisation
  • Previous HR admin and employee relations experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner
  • To ensure all confidential information stored electronically are securely stored and accessible only to those authorised to view such content
  • Must be self-motivated and able to organise own work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality of work
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships with others and is seen as approachable
  • Operates effectively within a team
  • Demonstrates good judgment and sound decision making when dealing with problems
  • Able to identify a problem arising and can develop a solution or take the correct course of action
  • Knows when to seek guidance or further input from others before acting
  • Looks for new solutions to problems
