Part-Time Marketing & PR Assistant


£32,000 (pro rata)

Available to start in June

Our client, an established and successful company based in Mitcham, South London, is looking to hire a Part-Time Marketing & PR Assistant to help elevate them to further success. You will be experienced in creating engaging marketing campaign content, as you will be crafting and monitoring web content for the client’s website, as well as running their various social media channels. Through research on markets and competitors, you will be raising product and brand awareness through trade articles, publications, social media articles, press releases and other outlets.

Hours will be part-time working 20 hours a week. Ideally you would work some hours every day Monday to Friday, however additional flexibility can be made available to the right candidate, including term time only.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing campaigns content

·         Working with marketing department to plan what material is required and when throughout campaigns

·         Writing creatively planned and ad-hoc promotional email content

Web content

·         Creating, checking and editing news and technical written content material on website

·         Regularly review the sales message with the sales and marketing manager

·         Consult with product experts and marketing manager regarding content of websites

Social Media & PR

·         To make effective use of social media channels in marketing our products, including recommendations for changes, use of blogs and thought leadership

Written communication

·         Creating content that informs and educates the market place, including:

o   PR articles, case studies, social media articles and news as required

o   Trade body articles, award entries and publications

Market research

·         Internal research into the most likely existing customers to target new products to, including preparation of mail merge or phone contact lists from the CRM

·         Research into our existing markets for new products, or new markets, including competitors

Other duties

·         To carry out any other tasks consistent with this job description

·         Maintaining good administrative records, including accurate customer records and product information where appropriate

·         Answering telephone calls to the company and directing them appropriately, taking messages and dealing with the call where possible, when required

Person Specification

·         Ability to work with limited supervision

·         Capability to write clearly about technical subjects

·         Excellent communicator with a passion for the written word

·         Good SEO copywriting techniques

·         Well-organised with good time management skills

·         Good word processing, spreadsheet skills and CRM

·         Ability to work well as part of a new team and in wider company

·         Meet deadlines and work well under pressure

·         Enthusiasm to learn

·         Dedication to customer service
