Practice Manager

Location: Chobham

Permanent Full Time

Salary: £31,200

We are seeking a Practice Manager to join an incredible company in Worcester Park. In this role you will ensure effective day to day management of the practice by effectively leading and motivating both clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Provide excellent customer service. Actively manage recruitment, retention and general wellbeing to ensure goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must have effective communication, customer focus, decision making
  • Take line management responsibility
  • Responsible for recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary staff
  • Organise colleague induction and training
  • Monitor and manage labour turnover for all colleagues
  • Manage performance, conflicts and other people matters
  • Recording staff sickness absence and annual leave
  • Keeping contracts of employment up to date including all compliance records such a UKVI, DBS and references
  • Coordinate arrangements for appraisal
  • Organise, attend and lead practice meetings
  • Promote the annual engagement survey other Best Place to Work initiatives
  • Ensure all relevant colleagues complete their CPD
  • Responsible for all banking procedures, including deposits, payments and checking bank statements
  • Responsible for NHS activity returns and receipts, checking monthly schedules
  • Arrange the payment of all staff and associates
  • Ensure the operation of the patient payment policy and the collection of outstanding debts
  • Check invoices and prepare payment cheques for signature
  • Attend quarterly group Practice Manager meetings/in house CPD training
  • Complete monthly/weekly business reports as necessary
  • Manage practice correspondence and administration
  • Stock management
  • Effective IT system management including back ups
  • Responsible for internal and external audits
  • Action staff pay queries
  • Website content co-ordination
  • Have systems in place to delegate practice management roles during holiday leave
  • Ensure the operation of the patient recall system / referral system

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Experience Dental Practice Management Software is desirable
  • ILM Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • CQC Registered Manager


  • Intermediate Information Technology Skills
  • Knowledge of budgets and profit and loss accounts
  • Proven experience of people management and working within a dental practice
  • Track record of successful operational and business improvement
  • Experience of working in a business oriented, commercial and customer focused environment
  • Track record of budget development and management
  • Registration with the General Dental Council
  • National Certificate in Dental Nursing or NVQ Level 3 Oral Health Care or equivalent
  • At least 5 GCSE at grade C or above
