This role will suit an IT Procurement Manager from a large company background, within the Private sector, with a hands-on approach. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the supply of the company approved IT products and services is in alignment with the procurement standards and guidelines set out by Central Services. The focus will be on ensuring that the agreed centralised procurement processes are adhered too and in developing strong suppliers/stakeholder relationships with a goal to achieving the maximum cost-effectiveness and customer satisfaction. The role involves ensuring that all standards and values are applied operational and strategically.
Primary Responsibilities as an IT Procurement Manager:
Affords leadership to the procurement team of 4 by providing support and ensuring adequate resourcing is available to cover core activities and deliverables
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in procurement practices and processes to enhance procurement team efficiency and effectiveness. Provide SME to other stakeholders and customer base.
Promotes and develops the interaction with financial teams by demonstrating approved processes and accountability to improve the overall effectiveness of the procurement function and spend governance
Looks to enhance and evolve ITSM processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness in the way the company procures its prescribed goods and services
To work with the global procurement team in order to develop and maintain appropriate internal controls and to ensure the procurement function operates effectively, efficiently and ethically
To assist in the management of supplier contracts to ensure core stock availability/deliverables, by ensuring regular supplier reviews/monitoring are implemented
To identify, lead and oversee complex sourcing of software, hardware and maintenance goods and services
Identifies business trends and product availability to ensure that best practice and cost-effectiveness are maintained without sacrificing quality or delivery times
Nurtures relationships with suppliers to ensure operational and strategy delivery of "value for money" in-line with goals and objectives, to research of new products and services.
Develops and implements strategies with appropriate teams for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels. This includes, but not limited to, asset life-cycle management, ISO 27001 compliance, asset disposal governance etc.
A strong track record of procurement experience across IT procurement, with an excellent understanding of the area of expertise, competence and a proven ability to manage supplier relationships and stakeholders’ expectations
Ability to manage and contribute to the development of the IT Procurement team as an exemplar in the field of IT procurement
Ability to plan and execute procurement activities in a collaborative manner ensuring all team members and stakeholders are informed and aligned
To develop and maintain professional business relations with the internal customer base and external stakeholders/suppliers
Ability to perform data analysis on current and historical spend to make recommendations for efficiencies in cost and the procurement process
To identify and agree enhancements in procurement workflows within the prescribed ITSM platform, ServiceNow
Manage and oversee the procurement process across a variety of supplier portals and websites to ensure compliance and governance
Knowledge of supply management software (database management, inventory management, financial analysis), Point of Sale and procurement systems
Good understanding of supply chain management procedures
Specialism in aspects of the procurement such as mobile device contracts, Microsoft and "best of breed" software publishers licensing agreement, ITSM platform (ServiceNow)
Excellent written and oral communication skills, good negotiator with suppliers and IT procurement advocate to all stakeholders
