Night-shift Warehouse Manager

Location: Maidstone

Permanent Full Time

Salary: £competitive

Night shift -Monday to Thursday 22.00hrs to 07.30hrs, Friday 20.30hrs to 06.00hrs

Every other week includes a Sunday 22.00hrs to 07.30hrs

Carlton Recruitment are recruiting a Warehouse Manager on behalf of our client in Maidstone to support and assist the depot Management Team to achieve the companies financial, operational and customer service objectives of the site.

Primary Responsibilities

• To manage, maintain and improve on the Quality, Food Safety and Health and Safety standards.

• To keep and maintain a clean and hygienic environment across all shifts.

• Conduct accident reporting and investigation procedures in accordance with company policy.

• Ensure company policies are adhered to, administrative functions completed within deadlines and maintain accurate records in line with both customer and company requirements.

• Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce orders within specifications. Ensure all non-conforming product & stock outside of specifications is processed in line with company quality procedure.

• Ensure all personnel, adhere to the companies Health and Safety, BRC of Organic policies.

• Actively participate and contribute to the HACCP and Audit team when required to.

• Lead by example on Health & Safety and Environmental matters.

• Liaise with the Group Health and Safety Manager for advice on Health and Safety.

• Encourage and promote good safety and environmental behaviour within all employees and actively encourage Near Miss & non-conformance reporting, take direct actions on any unsafe acts or conditions.

• Ensure all necessary inspections, audits and checks are carried out as per schedule.

• To become familiar with all food and product safety, Health & Safety and Environmental procedures relating to the task.

• To act in accordance with procedures and direction in order to protect Food and Product Safety and maintain a safe working environment.


• Manage performance targets in line with company KPIs.

• P&L Responsibility.

• Managing the activities and resources to achieve best financial, operational and customer service results.

• Manage performance targets in line with company KPIs.


• Manage the warehouse operation (Goods in, picking and loading) in accordance with company and area-specific policies and procedures.

• To assist in the management of productivity to achieve KPIs changing priorities where necessary, and being proactive in looking for continuous improvements.

• To ensure equipment is operational and relevant checks are being carried out and maintained.

• To promote harmonious and effective working relationships both internally and externally, ensuring excellent customer services through a combination of communication, teamwork, motivation, leadership and team briefings.

• Communicate both upwards and downwards to enhance staff morale and create a better understanding of business needs.

• Ensure staffing levels are met and managed with all personnel trained in accordance with company policy.

• Meet with customers and contribute to meetings.

• Competent systems user - WMS & MS Office.

• Assist and advise as required with new customer business development and implementation.

• To undertake additional tasks when required.
