We are looking for an experienced resourceful ambitious Director, to take control of a newly formed logistics company. Initially working with the current Director with the view to taking full control by year end. The successful candidate should have the drive and ambition to push the business through its next stages with a view of becoming a major operator within the UK. There is no limit to the potential of the business with the right people in place.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the routine of the daily operations of UK Logistics for a Major European customer.
• Ensuring the UK team are working efficiently and compliantly using the systems provided.
• Reviewing systems at technologies to enhance the business performance,
• Verifying and meeting established deadlines through management of staff.
• Managing sub-contract transport providers, reviewing costs and transportation rates
• Researching new cost-effective providers of goods and services.
• Developing and analysing budgets and providing reports to management.
• Managing logistics operations while ensuring all legal obligations are adhered to.
• Recruiting and coordinating logistics staff (e.g. truck driver’s) according to requirements and availabilities
• Establishing relationships with existing customers.
• Actively seeking new business opportunities within the sector.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Must have experience within the transport and logistics industry

Management experience within the transport and logistics industry

Computer literate

Happy to travel, some overseas business is required

Supply Chain experience
